Pump Skid Natural Frequency

For one fire pump skid, motor and pump are running at 1800rpm, the rotor first mode natural frequency is about 2400rpm (40Hz). Solid Structural Design designed the skid so that the skid first mode natural frequency is about 0.1Hz. The skid natural frequency is more than 20% away from the machine operating speed and pump critical speed.

Frost heaving (or a frost heave) is an upwards swelling of soil during freezing conditions caused by an increasing presence of ice as it grows towards the surface, upwards from the depth in the soil where freezing temperatures have penetrated into the soil (the freezing front or freezing boundary).

Cold Joints

Cold joints are the result of pouring a foundation at two separate times. If part of the foundation is poured and starts to cure, when the second part is poured the visible joint between the two is a cold joint or cold pour.
