For one fire pump skid, motor and pump are running at 1800rpm, the rotor first mode natural frequency is about 2400rpm (40Hz). Solid Structural Design designed the skid so that the skid first mode natural frequency is about 0.1Hz. The skid natural frequency is more than 20% away from the machine operating speed and pump critical speed.

For Suncor 4000HP Pump House. Mode 1 Structural Dynamic Analysis Model.
The pump skid is connected to a building skid. FEA model was built to study the stress in the skid. The results show that the stiffener plate needed to be added and re-arranged.
Solid finished the design of four pumphouses for Suncor. Each pumphouse supports a 4000HP slurry pump, sits on piles. Probably the largest pumphouse in North America in terms of pump power.
