To remove a wall on the main floor, the engineer designed a girder beam structure in the attic to suspend the ceiling joists. The beam is about 20ft long. The connections are using structural screws.

Roof Attic Condensation
Had an inspection of a bungalow built in 1960′. Saw roof attic condensation, which causes water leakage on the ceiling. Topping up the insulation could avoid this, and save energy. In the Calgary area, use R50 for attic insulation.
